About RHCE Stream One

RHCE Sub-Program Stream One is a new initiative that supports CPD to medical specialists who live and work in rural and remote locations across Australia.

CPD is vital to supporting rural workforce retention and in reducing professional isolation. CPD will provide clinicians with systems and networks to maintain clinical and professional standards. RHCE CPD also aims to address the specific challenges of life-long learning in rural and remote settings and will enhance the quality of services provided to these communities.

Funding  is available to individual specialists and for projects that will deliver CPD activities. Projects that have a focus on Multi-Disciplinary Education (MDT) will have a priority under RHCE Stream One funding.

Project Funding News

The Committee of Presidents of Medical Colleges has just announced its funding allocations from Round One of  RHCE Stream One.

Of the 42 individual CPD grant applications received, 23 applications supported by nine Specialist Medical Colleges were approved. The total amount of funds allocated is $86,102.

Of the 24 applications for project grants, 12 were supported from eight Specialist Medical Colleges, six of these being collaborative projects with other Colleges. The total amount of funds committed in this funding round is $2,095,089. See later in this Newsletter for project details.

Most of these projects are multi-disciplinary.
